What to Expect
We take a simple, straightforward approach to the collection and processing of personal stories. By using only one video camera and one audio recorder, we maintain a relaxed, casual atmosphere and will not intrude upon your home or office with additional harsh lighting or piles of cumbersome equipment. With years of experience putting our subjects at ease, we are happy to conduct the story sessions ourselves, but also welcome members of the family or organization to help facilitate the discussion. After conducting hundreds of sessions, we have learned not to interrupt the flow with a preconceived list of questions or expectations. By listening carefully to our narrators and following up as questions evolve, we conduct conversations with our subjects, not interviews.
